ABOUT ADLW

Australian Deaf Ladies is an empowerment social event that is held every 2-4 years around Australia, in each states and territories. It is to help all ladies who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, family or friend of Deaf lady (auslan user), Auslan User and Interpreters to come together and celebrate life, time out as a wife/partner/mother, break depression & isolation, make new friends, catch up with old friends, empower and inspire each other, boost confidence and go home feeling amazing!

It was first established in 2016 on the Gold Coast QLD, with 130 ladies attend. This event sold out quickly 6 months before it begins!!!It was limited for 100 ladies, but because it popular and sold out quickly- ADLW allowed it to extended to 30 more ladies - which sold out in 3 days! 

Then it was the Cruise with the Sun Princess in NSW in 2018, starting from Sydney, and end in Brisbane. This was an unlimited event and had 147 ladies attend! There was 12 interpreters also provided to help with the program. (Year 2018 was picked due to the sold out event in 2016)

The next one will be in 2020  was the highest voted by ADLW members via a facebook poll. ADLW encourage you to get involve in your community events - check your local Deaf Society or Facebook page to see whats out there.

ADLW is not-for-profit and voluntary social group which the founder, organiser and volunteers dont get paid. They do get a little commission in return for the effort put in to organise.
